Odion Ighalo revealed he rejected a lucrative contract from Locomotive Moscow of Russia earlier in his career.
Ighalo left Nigerian side Julius Berger for Lyn Oslo in Norway — where he made a huge impression.
In the 2007-2008 season, Ighalo scored nine goals in 15 appearances for Lyn Oslo, and his form attracted from Udinese and Locomotive Moscow.
Ighalo later opted to sign for the Italian side, and he admitted it wasn’t an easy decision.
“I was doing well in Norway, then Locomotive Moscow and Udinese started to call my agent. ”
“The Russians presented a better contract and they tripled what Udinese wanted to pay me, so it was difficult.”
“I and my agent stood at the airport and don’t know if we board a plane to Russia or Italy.”
“It was a difficult decision, but my agent, advised me to join Udinese, because of the projects, but if I want money, I should join Locomotive Moscow. However, I decided to join Udinese and it happened to be one of the best decisions of my career ” He said.
