Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye says the team cannot afford to allow Cape Verde get their desired results this Tuesday.
Okoye was in goal when the Super Eagles defeated the Blue Sharks 2-1 in Mindelo back in September and he’s expected to keep his place in today’s encounter.
The Super Eagles needs to avoid a defeat to pick the FIFA World Cup qualifying next round tickets, while the Blue Sharks are condemned to win, if they want to remain in contention .
In a chat with the media, ahead of the game, Okoye stated that, the team is aware of the threat poised by Cape Verde and insisted that, they won’t be leaving any stone unturned for the tie.
“We have played them before, and beat them at home. We know this will be a different game, because a lot of thing is at stake.
“But we are ready to fight for the points, it’s in our hands, and we can’t allow it to slip up. ” He said.
The match will be played at Teslim Balogun Stadium this Tuesday.
