Adding huge excitement to the already buzzing holiday season in London, Dior has announced that it will host the Autumn 2022 menswear show in the UK capital on December 9.
Speaking of the unexpected decision, Pietro Beccari says: “We are delighted to be presenting our Fall men’s collection abroad once again, and to be reconnecting with the ‘physical’ runway, an experience that is more important than ever.” The chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture continues: “We are proud and excited to be bringing this unique event to life in London, a particularly symbolic destination dear to Monsieur Dior and the House since 1947.”
The occasion marks Dior’s first ever London-based show since 1947 (then attended by the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret), as well as designer Kim Jones’s first show back in the city he grew up in since he was announced as the Creative Director of Dior Homme in 2018, replacing Kris Van Assche.
Noting the special connection between the show’s location and the artistic mind behind Dior Homme, Beccari adds: “London is of course also the city closest to Kim Jones’ heart, where he was born and where he lives, which inspires him with its inexhaustible creativity and which he loves deeply.”
At present all details of the upcoming show remain strictly confidential, including the possible venue and attendees. Undoubtedly the hottest event this season, stay tuned to see who get to grace the star studded front row.
