William Troost-Ekong has disclosed that teammate Maduka Okoye has what it takes to be successful in the English Premier League.

Okoye is expected to join Watford next season, after the Hornets reached agreement in principle with his Spata Rotherham on Monday.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper signed five years deal with Claudio Ranieri’s side to become the latest Nigerian to join the Club, after Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo and Tom Dele-Bashir.

Speaking to the Club’s media, Ekong said, he’s confident in the ability of his compatriot to excel in the Premier League.

“Among his main strengths is his size, and he is still very mobile and confident coming for balls in the box despite that,”

“I think he’s got the size and strength to be successful in the Premier League. He’s good on his line, he’s strong and he’s got a good kick, so he’s got everything he needs.

“He’ll be the first to say he’s still improving, but he’s very open to learning and he’s always looking out for advice, so I know he’s only going to improve going forward and I can’t wait to welcome him to London Colney,” Ekong said.
