NFF identify possible successor for Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr

The Nigeria Football Federation have already identified a new coach who will likely succeed Current handler Gernot Rohr for the Super Eagles.

According to former media officer of the team, Pêtêrside Idah, a coach from Eastern Europe has been contacted for the role.

It is no secret that the Nigeria Football Federation wants to move on from current boss Gernot Rohr, following the lackluster performances of the team in recent games.

Rohr qualified the Super Eagles for the next phase of FIFA World Cup qualifiers, but came under heavy criticism from the media, due to his brand of football.

“They have contacted a coach from Eastern Europe to take over from Rohr,”

“I know the coach, but they have not given me permission to announce the man.” The former Super Eagles goalkeeper and media officer Peterside Idah said on Soccer Africa.

Rohr was appointed Super Eagles coach in August 2016. The 68-year-old signed an extension in May, 2020.

He led the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
