Former Rangers coach Alex McLeish predicts big-money move for Joe Aribo

Former Glasgow Rangers Alex McLeish says midfielder Joe Aribo move away from the Club in the nearest future.

Aribo has been linked with a transfer to Crystal Palace and Everton in the past few weeks, but the former Charlton Athletic man played down the rumor and stated that he’s committed to the Gers.

Speaking to Football Insider, McLeish insisted the 25-year-old’s remarks could merely be the result of his media training and added that a big money move might be on the card.

“These days, they train young players for the media,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.

“It’s a bit of propaganda from the player, even when his thoughts could be lying elsewhere.

“He seems like an intelligent guy, seems happy at Rangers – let’s wait and see. It might be a case of a big club coming in, and there could be a lot of money to be made for Rangers.”

Aribo joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2019 and has made 106 appearances for the Ibrox club, scoring 19 goals.

He helped the Steven Gerrard’s men to the league title last season and contract with the Gers expires in 2023.
